Our Day to B Proud

On 6/2/2016,  our Founders Lou and Aurora Paradise joined more than 100 of our B Corp peers, representing over 50 different Certified B Corporations from 6 different states in New York City at the NYC B Corp Leadership Development 2016!

The B Corp Leadership Development or BLD is an all-day event held exclusively for employees of Certified B Corporations. This event provides an opportunity for B Corps to network, collaborate, share best practices, and learn how to better use their B Corp certification as a platform to dramatically improve their individual and organizational thought leadership!

bcorp5Why did Topical BioMedics, Inc participate? We want to Bcome even better, while connecting with thought leaders in our community. By focusing on developing individual and organizational leadership skills, our business and B Corp community will be able to solve even bigger and more entrenched social and environmental challenges!

Lou and Aurora attended four key workshop sessions with topics and facilitators that included:

  1. CULTURE – Ted Freeman, Culture Officer at Eileen Fisher and Laura Campbell, Global Talent at Etsy
  2. DIVERSITY & INCLUSION – Bulbul Gupta, Head of Social Innovation at Greyston Bakery and Gerry Valentine, President & Founder at Vision Executive Coachinggreystone
  3. LEADERSHIP Samira Salman, Salman Solutions and Kristy Wallace, President at Ellevate Network
  4. MARKETING Carol Benovic, Community Engagement at Kickstarter and Lisa Hyman, Partner & SVP Brand Strategy, LeadDog Marketing Group kickstarter

bcorp2The Keynote was Vincent Stanley, Director of Philosophy at PatagoniaVincent Stanley, is the co-author with Yvon Chouinard of The Responsible Company,and has been with the Patagonia on and off since its start in 1973. As Patagonia’s long-time chief storyteller, Vincent has helped develop its Responsible Economy responsiblecompanycampaign; the Footprint Chronicles, the company’s interactive website that outlines the social and environmental impact of its products; the Common Threads Partnership; and Patagonia Books.

Aurora and our West Coast Brand Manager Richard actually visited a Patagonia store on their way to ExpoWest just this past spring.  Patagonia is a true leading brand in our B Corp community and we look forward to sharing our Sports Cream with them!bcorp7
