A fun day for skiers and snowboarders of all ages, the downhill race takes place on Saturday, March 5th, on the scenic slopes of Loon Mountain. Hosted by WCVB-TV‘s sportscaster Mike Lynch and sponsored by the TJX Foundation, the race features five-person teams that compete on an easy dual-slalom course.
It is going to be a very colorful scene as all participants race in costume with a soft-sided briefcase in hand. Men, women, and children alike will get a kick out of racing against each another and the clock. It doesn’t matter whether they fly, cruise, roll, slide or tumble down the racecourse. And best of all, once they get to the finish line, they can get up and do it all over again!
After a day on the slopes, Mike Lynch hosts the après ski party, complete with live auction and awards that include prizes for the best individual and team costume.
This clever and exciting event has a very serious mission: to continue Faulkner’s fight against breast cancer–a disease that affects one in eight women. For more information or to make a donation online, visit www.briefcaserace.org
