A lot of people in the greater Sacramento area hit the ground running on January 2nd–and are feeling healthier for it!
The hundreds of participants in the The Second Annual “My First 5K ” didn’t let the cool, wet weather dampen their spirits–including Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson. Lining up at the State Capital West Steps, both kids and adults were ready to go the distance and commit to a resolution of healthy habits for 2011.
First place went to Amjed Aboukhadijeh of UCLA, who said it was “A great workout.” Leah Cox, Exeutive Director of the California Wellness Task Force, which organzied the 5K, put in a great showing, too.
We were delighted to be a sponsor of this worthy event, which received coverage on KCRA News and in the Sacremento Bee. And I think the runners were especially glad to have some Topricin on hand to help with their post-run aches and pains !
