Greetings to all,
When Mark Metz, the editor of Conscious Dancer magazine, approached us about becoming a co-sponsor of the Bellydance Superstars new show, “Bombay Bellywood,” it took us a nano second to say YES! Professional dancers, their friends, and their fans certainly need to know about Topricin and especially Topricin Foot Therapy Cream, and we were delighted to spread the word through this exotic, exciting, and innovative performance art form.
I have to admit that I am a big fan of belly dance, having enjoyed lessons in Tribal Fusion style (at the beginning you feel like you can’t pat your head and rub your belly at the same time, but it sure gives a good workout!). Sometimes called “the punk rock of belly dance,’ Tribal Fusion was founded in San Francisco by Moria Chappell, and is quite different from what is known as traditional Middle Eastern bellydance—which is often known as Cabaret, and features women in sparkly costumes—and traditional Egyptian style dance. It’s only natural that Moria is now on the road with Bellydance Superstars.
Established in 2003, Bellydance Superstars have twirled, whirled, and mesmerized audiences in some 700 shows performed in 22 countries. Melding the ancient art form and reinventing it with new, innovative interpretations, the dance troupe has created a mega show that rivals such hits as “Riverdance” and “Stomp.” Called “The most important dance troupe in the world” by the Sunday Times of England, they are making a name for themselves around the globe.
Of note is that the mastermind behind this show is Miles Copeland, who is the brother of The Police drummer Stewart and managed the rock band. He also founded I.R.S. Record label, which launched R.E.M. With his guidance, Bellydance Superstars debuted at Lollapalooza in 2003, then went on to perform at the esteemed Folies Bergere in Paris, which was filmed and later aired on PBS stations across the country.
Their newest show, Bombay Bellywood has been called “Cairo meets Bombay in San Francisco and New York, with a touch of Buenos Aries and Chicago.” Wow! I can’t wait to see it while it’s crisscrossing North America before making its way to Europe! In the meantime, I’ll be visiting www.bellydancesuperstars.com to order CD of the soundtrack and dance around the living room at home!
By the way, I wanted to let you know that we are pleased that Topricin Foot Therapy Cream is featured in the Conscious Dancer special “Gift Vision” issue! Thanks, Mark! Check it out at www.consciousdancer.com.
‘Til later, take care and be well!
